I received this book FREE from the GoodReads author. I had to wait until I could drink beer, as the author suggested. You MUST read the preface.This is not your usual type of book--the author claims to have not written it while completely sober. He classifies it as self-help and humor genres. The author's name is Anno Nomius....I am guessing like Anonymous, which is hilarious in itself.
The book is pretty funny! The author's thoughts do ramble a lot, but considering his perspective is funny. He touches on narcissistic people to change in the world to Area 51 to taking favors from folks and having to return the favors to the fact that eating salads make you unhappy to complaining about the weather to having to wait to relieve yourself in the bathroom.
My favorite thought was Life is a bitch and you must accept it because you are not going to win the jackpot! I guess that thought aligns with mine as a realist.
This was a fun and short read.

Very enjoyable read! - Refreshingly different!
I had no idea what I was getting when I agreed to read Thoughts from a naked unshackled mind. Other than reading the blurb, I went into it completely blind. And really, the blurb doesn't give you much to go on.
What you get is exactly what the title of the book says. Thoughts. This book, if you can really call it that, is a collection of unfiltered random thoughts about random things going on in today's world. Basically, it's just a glimpse into someone's mind. It reminds me almost of a diary. Or if I might relate it to something modern, someone's Twitter feed.
Thoughts from a naked unshackled mind was an interesting and quick read. I found myself agreeing on some things and laughing at others.
Interesting read. Description of the repercussion of eating thai food was funny..-). The author covers a variety of activities / events that occur around our lives
short read. enjoyable with perspective on life. Many funny lines. My favorite was the black cat crossing the road is considered bad in some culture. An unusual book
I was asked for a review by the author on Goodreads, and while it was interesting it is not something I would reread. Though I would be happy to recommend it and would also suggest reading random paragraphs with time to think about not only what the author wrote but how you feel about the subject and his thoughts.
"Thoughts from a naked unshackled mind" is written in an unusual style, short turns of phrase that are thought provoking. This took me much longer to read than I had originally planned as I had anticipated the usual style of paragraphs and chains of thought. This style allowed me to read a few of the author's points and ponder my own views as well. Some made me angry, some made me laugh, but all made me wonder what provoked the emotion.
Anno Nomius speaks their mind, which is refreshing. There is no subliminal message, it's all right there on the page to take in at your leisure and walk away with whatever lesson you choose to learn. I found it to be a gratifying read. It is cautioned you have a beer or a glass of wine in the forward, for some people, it might just help the words go down a bit easier. As I said before, I did find it refreshing to find an author that actually says what they mean and doesn't sugar coat it.
