This book consists of 100 matrix-reasoning-type puzzles. Each puzzle consists of three grids that are colored in according to some pattern. The challenge is to choose which of the six answer choices represents what the fourth grid should be based on the pattern established by the first three grids.

Pros:
Brief, simple directions with a sample problem.
The book can indeed provide good exercise for one's working memory.
The book is a nice size with one puzzle per page, so one doesn't have to strain the eyes.

Cons:
Nine of the 100 solutions are missing (and I found two definite errors amongst those present).
The puzzles don't increase in LOGICAL difficulty; in fact, I found them easier to solve as I progressed through the book becuse many puzzles include the same patterns.

The problems may APPEAR to increase in difficulty because more and more of the cells of the grids get shaded in. In every puzzle, however, the correct answer is so dissimilar from the incorrect answers that it was possible to find the correct answer without figuring out the entire pattern. For example, let's say you have three grids, each with five or six total cells shaded in, no obvious pattern amongst them. Then you notice that, in the first grid, the leftmost cell of the bottom row is shaded in, the second grid has the second-from-the left cell of the bottom row shaded in, and the third grid has the third-from-the-left cell of the bottom row shaded in. You'd expect the solution to have, at the least, the fourth-from-the-left cell of the bottom row shaded in. Looking at the solutions, you find that only one of them has ANY bottom row cells shaded in. You now know that this has to be the correct answer without even bothering about the other cells that make up the pattern.

Thus the answer choices (along with repeating patterns) negate the puzzles' complexity. Merely solving the puzzles, therefore, does not provide a working memory workout; one has to deliberately study the grids in search of the complete pattern, despite the fact that this much isn't necessary to choose the correct solution. If you want a real challenge, cover up the answer choices and draw or just visualize the solution.

This might be interesting and/or useful to a bright child, a bare beginner, a slow learner, or someone who has very poor visual reasoning skills, but, as someone who does these sorts of puzzles as something of a hobby, I was disappointed. I just got the book yesterday, I've already solved all of the puzzles, and, besides the aforementioned errors, all of my answers were correct.
